A beverage manufacturer in Japan recently completed a large-capacity stainless steel tank project with MICET for Coca-Cola and other carbonated beverage production. The project included seven tanks ranging from 12,000L to 40,000L, covering both mixing and storage requirements. MICET completed the manufacturing, assembly, testing, final inspection, and shipment of the complete equipment package within the planned production schedule.
The customer required a group of stainless steel tanks with different capacities for its beverage production process. Based on the project requirements, MICET provided a customized tank solution consisting of one 12,000L mixing tank, two 20,000L storage tanks, two 30,000L process tanks, and two 40,000L mixing tanks.
The complete system includes mixing, weighing, CIP cleaning, instrumentation, and process piping. The product-contact inner vessels are manufactured from SUS316L stainless steel, while SUS304 is used for the jackets and outer shells. The internal surface finish is polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 μm.
Main Equipment Configuration
Equipment | Quantity | Capacity |
Mixing Tank | 1 | 12,000L |
Storage Tank | 2 | 20,000L |
Process Tank | 2 | 30,000L |
Mixing Tank | 2 | 40,000L |
Total | 7 Units | 12T–40T |
Large-Capacity Beverage Mixing Tank
The 12,000L and 40,000L tanks are configured as beverage mixing tanks for large-volume beverage processing. Their SUS316L inner vessels provide a suitable product-contact surface, while the SUS304 jackets and outer shells provide the required structural and external protection.
The internal surfaces are polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 μm. The tanks are also equipped with mixing systems, weighing sensors, CIP cleaning balls, temperature instruments, sampling valves, sight lights/UV lights, and related process connections.
For a large beverage production facility, different tank capacities can be arranged according to the production flow. Mixing tanks can handle beverage preparation, while storage tanks provide additional capacity for intermediate or process storage.
Manufacturing and Quality Inspection
The project was manufactured according to a 35-calendar-day production schedule from July 1 to August 5, 2026. The manufacturing process covered technical confirmation, material preparation, CNC cutting, tank forming and welding, jacket fabrication, internal polishing, insulation, component installation, and final assembly.
To maintain the delivery schedule, MICET arranged several production operations in parallel. Two polishing teams worked in shifts to avoid delays in the internal polishing stage, while daily production meetings were used to track progress and address potential bottlenecks.
Before delivery, each tank underwent pressure testing, mixing system testing, instrument commissioning, and airtightness inspection. The jackets were tested at 0.196 MPa, and any identified issues were corrected and rechecked before final acceptance.
Completed and Shipped to Japan
After final inspection, all seven tanks were cleaned, dried, and protected for transportation. The project documentation, including drawings, certificates, inspection reports, and accessory lists, was also completed.
The complete equipment package successfully passed final acceptance on August 5, 2026, and the seven tanks were subsequently shipped to Japan for installation and integration into the customer’s beverage production system.
Application for Carbonated Beverage Production
This project provides a flexible tank configuration for Coca-Cola, soft drinks, carbonated beverages, and other large-scale beverage applications. The combination of 12T, 20T, 30T, and 40T capacities allows different tanks to perform mixing and storage functions within the overall production process.
The integrated mixing, weighing, CIP cleaning, instrumentation, and process piping make the beverage mixing tank solution suitable for integration with other beverage processing and packaging equipment.
If you are looking for 12T–40T beverage mixing tanks, stainless steel storage tanks, or a customized tank solution for carbonated beverage production, MICET can design and manufacture the equipment according to your production capacity, process requirements, and plant layout.
